Peak Alerts now available in multiple languages in El Paso and Teller County
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The El Paso-Teller County 911 Authority is excited to announce that Peak Alerts are available in more than 130 different languages. Through this collaboration, all Peak Alerts will integrate with the ReachWell app, allowing users to access critical alerts in their preferred language. Colorado Springs Secures $5M Grant for Gas Line Upgrades
Colorado Springs Utilities is set to receive over five million dollars in federal grants to improve its aging gas line infrastructure. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration announced a total of $5,258,470 would be awarded to the municipal utility. This funding will be used to replace just under four miles of high-risk, aging natural gas pipelines across Colorado Springs.
Heavy snow, difficult travel reported in high country
The National Weather Service reported late Sunday morning that snow is falling at the rate of two to three inches an hour in Park and Teller counties. NWS's Boulder office, in a social media post, advised against travel over central mountain highways.Both directions of State Highway 285 over Kenosha Pass were closed since 7:30 a.m. due to a stalled vehicle, according the Colorado Department of Transportation.
