Chicago Medical Supply Owner Convicted of Wire Fraud in VA Kickback Scheme

A suburban Chicago medical supply company owner was found guilty on Monday for his role in a scheme that involved paying kickbacks to a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs employee. According to federal prosecutors. Darren A. Smith, 59, from Hazel Crest, Illinois, was convicted of eight counts of wire fraud after a week-long trial, with each count carrying a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.
Hope Gas remains in disagreement with owners of former Pleasants Power Station
BELMONT, W.Va. — The unnamed plant and pipeline company that Hope Gas has petitioned the Public Service Commission about have come forward,. The plant asked the PSC on Tuesday to dismiss the petition so that their project can move forward. On Wednesday, Hope asked the PSC to hold the case in abeyance so that it and the other parties can discuss the issue.

On April 27, South Suburban College (SSC) alumni, faculty members, and donors gathered at the beautiful Odyssey Country Club in Tinley Park, Illinois for the school’s annual Foundation Gala. This year’s event marked the series’ return from its pandemic-induced hiatus. The evening's theme was 'Hollywood Awards: A Black and White Affair – A Night of Dreams, Success, and Scholarships.' Attendees dressed in their red carpet best enjoyed a delicious dinner, a silent auction, live music, and dancing.
