Alcohol and Drug-Related Items Found at Crash Site in Union County

(Creston) A Union County man was taken to the Hospital following a single-vehicle rollover accident.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 4:31 p.m. on 197th Road near Tulip Avenue. Medic 1 transported the driver, 43-year-old Daniel Gary Goodemote of Thayer, to Greater Regional Hospital in Creston.

According to the report, Goodemote lost control of his 2006 Ford Escape on 197th Road. The Ford rolled into the ditch and came to rest on the driver’s side.

During the investigation, Deputies found several open and unopened alcoholic beverage containers inside the vehicle. Additionally, an Officer found a black package labeled marijuana gummies.

Authorities say Goodemote consented to standard field sobriety tests and the PBT that came in over .08 percent.
