Down two sets to none, Hayden volleyball had a lot of work to do in its cross-county rivalry match in Steamboat Springs on Thursday. The Tigers had just suffered a 25-7 second-set loss but found it within themselves to win three straight sets to earn their fifth victory of the regular season.

In June, the Steamboat Soccer Club received a grant from the Daniels Fund to continue the spread of soccer throughout Northwest Colorado. Club Directors, Fields and Kelly Brown, have since made it their mission to use the grant money as a means to further their reach and share the game with the community. To accomplish this goal, the Club will host the Yampa Valley Soccer Festival from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Dry Creek Park in Hayden.

The Hayden Tigers had a slow start to the volleyball season, winning just two of their first nine games and winning just five sets all season. On Tuesday night, the Tigers welcomed Moffat County to town for a best-of-five match that would end 3-0 in favor of Hayden. The Tigers...
