Rocky Mountain NHS inducts nine members
The Rocky Mountain High School National Honor Society inducted nine new members during a special ceremony on Monday, April 29, at the school gym in Cowley. Inducted into the RMHS chapter were juniors Nathan Clendenen, Branton Moore, Elliahna Scheeler and Shelby Wambeke and sophomores Emma Collins, William Fuller, Layla Gardner, Triffen Jolley and Landon Pruett.
2024 Mustang Days rodeo queen and princess crowned
The Lovell Rodeo Club held their annual Mustang Days royalty contest at the Lovell rodeo grounds on Saturday, April 27. There was a good turnout and great attitudes present, according to organizers. The contest consisted of horsemanship patterns and a question-and-answer session in front of a panel of four judges.

Newton set to retire after years of inspiring artists
Berta Newton knew she was meant to be an artist at age 2, and she had a lot of inspiration. She was born to parents who made their artistic gifts into lifelong careers. Newton’s father had a degree from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City and was an accomplished painter. Her mother a musician with a keen interest in singing opera. Mustangs excel at Yellowstone Conference meet
There was some exciting school record-breaking by Lovell Mustang athletes at the Yellowstone Conference Track and Field meet in Thermopolis Saturday including sixth grader Bradley Mickelson in the high jump with a jump of 5-0. Morgan Harshman, a seventh-grade Lady Mustang, broke the shot-put record, throwing 29-10.50 to place first in the seventh-grade division. Placing first, eighth grader Hunter Krei broke the school record in the 200-meter dash, running a time of 23.98. Avery Walker broke the triple jump record, placing first in the girls eighth-grade division with a jump of 34-8.
