UPDATE: (4/27/24 ) - The bomb squad cleared the house and vehicle and everyone was returned to the single house that was evacuated.

The shelter in place order was lifted for those affected Friday night and Saturday morning.

WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. — Multiple agencies responded to a Wagoner County neighborhood near 91st Street South and South 257th East Avenue after two alleged pipe bombs were found in a house and another explosive device was found in a Jeep.

Coweta Police were serving a search warrant of the house in relation to an active investigation out of Coweta.

The suspect was arrested without incident and during the search of the house, police found what appeared to be two pipe bombs.

A second device that appeared to be either a smoke device or a hand grenade of some sort was found inside a Jeep outside the house.

The suspect's intention with the devices is unknown at this time.

Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell said the suspect is not being named at this time, but he confirmed that the suspect was formerly in the U.S. Navy for 12 years.

Bell said he was a suspect in a recent armed robbery at a pharmacy.

Due to the suspect's military history, Bell said this may be related to a mental health crisis.

Tulsa Bomb Squad along with Broken Arrow Fire and Wagoner County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene.

Bell said this was only the second time that he's had to call the bomb squad in the 10 years he has worked in Coweta.

One nearby house was evacuated and several others were asked to shelter in place.

All residents who would be in danger of the devices have been notified.

FOX23 will provide further updates as they become available.
