Man Arrested After Allegedly Punching Coweta Police Officer In The Face

A man is in custody on Thursday morning after Coweta Police say he punched an officer in the face and then ran off.

According to police, an officer tried to arrest a man during a traffic stop around a.m. on Thursday morning for several violations. Police say when the officer was putting the handcuffs on, the suspect turned around and punched the officer in the face and took off running.

Officers eventually caught him after a short chase but say he got away again.

Police and Wagoner County Deputies then used a drone to find the suspect and arrest him.

Police have not yet identified the man but say he was booked into the Wagoner County Jail.
