NORTH SHORE. TWO TEENS WERE ARRESTED TONIGHT FOR ALLEGED SETTING A FIRE IN THE COVINGTON WALMART. THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL SAYS A 17 YEAR OLD AND 15 YEAR OLD NOW FACES ARSON CHARGES. THEY’RE BEING HELD AT THE FLORIDA PARISH’S JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER. THE FIRE WAS SET LAST NIGHT JUST ABOUT 8:00, WHILE AT LEAST 200 SHOPPERS WERE INSIDE THAT WALMART OFFICIALS SAY LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED. St. Tammany Parish officials arrested two juvenile suspects in connection to a fire at the Walmart in Covington.State fire marshals say a 17-year-old and 15-year-old from Covington were arrested today. They face charges of aggravated arson, conspiracy to c0mmit aggravated arson, and manufacture and possession of a delated action incendiary device. “We are grateful that the Northshore community stood up for itself today and made a stance against arson,” said State Fire Marshal Chief Dan Wallis. “While it is very unfortunate two young people have been arrested in this case, I am hopeful that this situation encourages all adults to remind children and teens that fire is not a toy. Fire is very dangerous and can change lives in an instant, just like in this case.” St. Tammany officials credit the public for their quick response in guiding officials to the suspects. Officials have asked the media to blur the previously released surveillance images, since the suspects arrested are confirmed as juveniles.
