On Saturday, Oregon defeated Arizona 5-4 to win the Pac-12 baseball tournament.
With the win, the Ducks clinch a spot in the 64-team field for the NCAA Championships. Oregon will find out where they land on Monday at 9:00 a.m. The selection show airs on ESPN2.
Oregon went on a two-out rally in the fourth, as Gavin Grant and Rikuu Nishida drove in runs to put Oregon up 3-1.
The Wildcats would get a run back in the fifth. Then in the sixth, the unthinkable happened. Former Corvallis Knight Kiko Romero blasted a hit to deep left-center field. The ball bounced off the wall, and Romero turned third base to score the ultra-rare inside the park home run.
But the Ducks kept their cool and in the bottom of the sixth, Jacob Walsh gave the Ducks back the lead with a moonshot to right-center.
In the 7th, Arizona loaded up the bases to threaten the lead. But Austin Anderson struck out Romero to leave all the runners stranded.
Tanner Smith added an insurance run in the bottom 7th, driving in Sabin Ceballos on a single.
The Wildcats would punch back with a home run in the 8th to make it 5-4, but the Ducks hung on to win.
The last time Oregon baseball won a conference title of any kind was 1974 when they were division co-champions.
