CORVALLIS, OR – LC State Golf swept the Cascade Conference Rize Laboratory Golfers of the Week honors to open the spring season. Jorgen Lie Viken and Deana Caruso earned the accolade after the first tournament of 2023.
JORGEN LIE VIKEN – MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Viken led the Warrior men to a team victory at the RMC Intercollegiate last week. The senior helped LC State finish ahead of four ranked teams with two under-par rounds. He shot a 2-under 214 (70-71-73) to finish fourth overall.
This is Viken’s second honor this season and fourth of his career.
DEANA CARUSO – WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Caruso was the top finisher for LC State at the RMC Intercollegiate in a tie for 10th. She helped the Warrior women tie for third with a 237 (76-80-81) total through her three rounds.
This is Caruso’s first honor this season and third of her career.
