Temperatures will take another step back today thanks to some blustery northwest winds.

Winds will build through the morning and peak during the early and mid afternoon. Wind speeds will approach 15 mph and gusts may go as high as 35 mph.

Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds. What sun there is will be filtered by a thick plume of wildfire smoke.

The smoke will be enough to knock temperatures down a degree or two from where they would be without it. Combined with the northwest winds, temperatures will struggle to get much beyond 70 degrees.

There is a small chance for a stray shower this afternoon, but most areas should remain completely dry. On the off hand chance it did rain, any shower would be brief with very light amounts.

Skies will clear out tonight, and even the wildfire smoke should diminish somewhat. Winds will also drop after sunset.

Temperatures will drop to the mid 50s during the evening and then into the mid 40s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Clouds, sun, and scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Friday: Clouds, sun, and scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
