The agency said four sedans and a tractor-trailer were involved in the wreck, but the specific circumstances were not available.

Corona Fire Department personnel reached the location within minutes and found one motorist with minor injuries. The unidentified party was taken to a hospital for treatment. No one else required medical attention, according to reports from the scene.

Several traffic lanes were blocked because of scattered debris from the impact, and one car was stalled in the No. 3 lane, the CHP said.

That vehicle and another were damaged to the point of no longer being operable, according to the agency.

As of 12:05 p.m., officers were clearing the wreckage, but eastbound traffic remained backed up through the downtown area.
