Valley prepares for more flooding

Flooding in parts of the Central Valley is still an issue and more is expected with the next rain event happening Tuesday and Wednesday.

6th Avenue is completely submerged between Quebec Ave. and Redding Ave. south of Corcoran.

Houses and businesses in the area are also underwater.

Sandbags are available in Hanford, Corcoran, Lemoore, and Avenal on Monday.

Please bring your own bags and shovel and be prepared to fill the bags yourself.

  • Hanford 900 S. 10th Ave. 7:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Corcoran 750 North Ave. 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Lemoore Corner of F. St. and Fox St. Monday-Sunday
  • Avenal 108 W Kings St, Avenal 93204 Monday-Sunday
  • County of Kings 10871 Bonneyview Lane, Hanford 24-hour access


If you live in flooded areas, experts are reminding people to be mindful of all above-ground storage tanks.

Those include fuel, propane, chlorine, and waste drums.

Floodwater could cause the containers to dislodge or float away.

It could become a hazard by contaminating waters or exploding.

The Kings County Department of Public Health asks that people safeguard all types of these containers.
