A Coralville man was arrested for OWI after allegedly driving himself to the Police Department to report an incident in Cedar Rapids.

Police say 39-year-old Daniel Larson of Holiday Road arrived at the PD just after 11:30pm May 30th. He said he wanted to report an incident that occurred in Cedar Rapids, and allegedly admitted that he was intoxicated and shouldn’t have driven to the Police Department.

The dispatched officer noted that Larson was clearly intoxicated, with bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, and a strong odor of ingested alcohol. He allegedly admitted several times that he was intoxicated.  Larson showed impairment on field testing, and had a Datamaster reading showing his blood-alcohol level at .177 percent.
