A Hiawatha woman was arrested for OWI in Coralville last week after an accident left her vehicle flipped on its side.

Officers were called to the 400 block of 4th Avenue at around 8:30 pm on March 14th on reports of a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries and a vehicle flipped over in a 25-miles-per-hour zone. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle on its side, and the driver, 23-year-old Alica Rinke.  She was allegedly observed with bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, and the odor of ingested alcohol.  Rinke reportedly admitted to consuming 2 glasses of wine while at dinner with her friends.

She refused medical attention and submitted to field sobriety tests that showed measurable impairment. A Datamaster showed her blood-alcohol level at .177 percent.

Rinke was charged with her first OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
