Clouds and a few showers Saturday but warmer and drier weather lies ahead
TONIGHT: Mainly cloudy with a few showers late.. Low: 56. SATURDAY: Cloudy and cool with a few showers, especially south and west of the Lehigh Valley. High: 67. Friday was yet another mostly cloudy day with a few rays of sunshine here and there. Minus the rain it was pretty m7uch a copy and paste of what we had seen on Thursday. Tonight however with a weak low pressure system moving through, we’ll see some scattered showers move through eastern PA. The showers remain mostly scattered with the best chance of rain being south of I-78. The rain lasts through Saturday morning and ends by early afternoon. With the presence of an ocean breeze once again, skies will be mostly cloudy which will limit our temperatures from rising again. Look for highs in the mid to upper 60s, however, if the sun does stay out a little longer, we might be able to break 70°. Regardless, temperatures will be below average on Saturday as the average high in Allentown is 74°. After this system moves out, we get a much needed break from all of the rain for a few days as an area of high pressure settles over the east coast. This will bring back the May-like temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 70s to start off the new work week, maybe breaking 80° on Tuesday and more sunshine. Our next system to bring us rain moves in on Wednesday afternoon/evening with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. However there are some disagreements with timing on some of the models as some push the rain back until Thursday. Memorial Day weekend looks a little unsettled right now with rain chances over the weekend. Some models are hinting at rain over the weekend and dry for Memorial Day while others have Memorial Day wet and the weekend dry. There will be more clarity as we get closer to next weekend.
