A Coos County man wanted by authorities resisted arrest and tried to escape, the Coos County Sheriff's Office said.
Around 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Coos County Dispatch Center received a call regarding an ongoing civil issue on Snedden Lane in Coos Bay that involved Shanor Allen, who had a valid warrant for his arrest.
A Coos County Sheriffs' deputy responded and made contact with Allen, who was advised he was under arrest for the warrant and to place his hands behind his back.
The deputy attempted to put handcuffs on him, "but he pulled away and refused to place his hands behind his back, and repeatedly tried to get away," CCSO said.
Allen had to be taken to the ground to be placed in handcuffs, the report stated.
Once he was handcuffed, the deputy finished investigating the original civil issue.
Allen was transported to the Coos County Jail and booked on the active warrant and new charges of resisting arrest and attempted escape in the 3rd degree.
