Saturday night a Coos Bay man was arrested after firing a shotgun in a house with his girlfriend nearby, according to the Coos County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).
Around 8:32 p.m. Saturday night, the CCSO Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a disturbance in progress.
Officials say shots were fired at a house located on Siglun Lane, just south of Coos Bay.
CCSO Deputies responded to the area where they made contact with the suspects girlfriend. Authorities moved her to safety and then attempted to establish contact with her boyfriend.
The suspect, identified as George D. Lentz (61) of Coos Bay, did not immediately respond to law enforcement. CCSO says eventually Lentz came outside to speak with authorities.
Officials say as a result of the investigation into the matter, Lentz was arrested for menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.
Deputies transported Lentz to the Coos County Jail, where he is currently in custody.
