A high pressure system to the northeast of West Texas will continue to limit rain despite some passing clouds from the west as Meteorologist Ryan DePhillips expects higher temperatures because of stronger southerly winds. Clouds will dominate areas south of I-20 while areas to the north will be a bit sunnier this afternoon as all areas will remain free from rain. Temperatures will eventually reach the upper 50’s, 60’s, and near the low 70’s by The Big Bend region. Despite more-humid air anywhere east of The Trans Pecos, plenty of stable air will inhibit rain from falling, but as a low pressure system quickly develops to the east of The Basin tomorrow, temperatures will briefly rise even more with dusty wind gusts.

Despite a band of clouds moving to the east of West Texas this morning, Meteorologist Ryan DePhillips expects more passing clouds from the west throughout the day. Temperatures will remain below normal, but they will be higher than yesterday as high temperatures will generally be in the 50’s and 60’s. Drier air beneath the decks of clouds will inhibit rain from falling for most if not all areas as south-southwesterly winds will provide the warmer and drier air. A high pressure system to the northeast of The Basin will continue to stabilize the atmosphere enough to greatly limit precipitation across the region despite some passing clouds. Winds will eventually pick up in the coming days before the next pattern change later this week.

Despite a few rain showers around The Big Bend region, most will be free from rain as drier air will seep into the atmosphere as temperatures will eventually reach the high 40’s, 50’s, and low 60’s. Winds will subtly switch from the east then more from the south throughout the day. As a high pressure system builds to the northeast of West Texas in the short term, slightly clearer skies with higher temperatures will be the result with more-persistent southwesterly winds.
