Lady Cavs Take Down Rival Sparta, Sweep Season Series
The Cookeville Lady Cavs closed out a season-sweep over rival White County 3-1 on Monday evening. The Lady Cavs opened the match on a high note, as an Alanah Craig ace gave CHS a 12-5 advantage. The lead grew to as much as 19-10 before Cookeville closed out the first set by a 25-18 count.
WR Clark named semifinalist for 2023 William V. Campbell Trophy
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech wide receiver Brad Clark has been a force for the Golden Eagles in his career. He's also been a leader and a servant in the community. The National Football Foundation agrees, naming Clark as a semifinalist for the 2023 William V. Campbell Trophy as the organization released its annual list of prospective student-athletes.
Lady Bees Sweep Non-District Foe Gordonsville
The Upperman Lady Bees won two hard-fought sets before rolling in the third of a 3-0 sweep against non-district foe Gordonsville on Tuesday evening. The Tigerettes jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in the opening set, but Upperman came roaring back on a Lila Cade kill to knot the score at 5-5. The two teams then traded the lead for a couple rallies before another Cade kill pushed Upperman on a run to stretch the lead to 14-10. Gordonsville wouldn’t go away, as they forced a tie at 19-all late in the frame. Korra Bass’ ace pushed the Lady Bees out in front 20-19 and while the visitors got within a point at 24-23, Upperman mananged to close the set out 25-23.

Chesnut Cheering At Tennessee Tech
Abigail Chesnut, a 2023 Greeneville High grad, made her home game debut for the Tennessee Tech University spirit squad during the Golden Eagles’ 20-7 football loss against North Alabama on Saturday. Chesnut graduated from Greeneville with academic honors. She is majoring in nursing at Tennessee Tech and plans to become a nurse practitioner. Chesnut began dancing at the age of two at Central Ballet Studio and began competing dance at a young age with Main Street Dance Company. She was named an All-American Dancer through Varsity. While attending Greeneville Middle School and Greeneville High, Chesnut was a member of Greeneville’s dance team.
