Cooke City avalanche injures snowmobile rider on Henderson Mountain

COOKE CITY, Mont. —
Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center reported two snowmobile riders were caught in a deep slab avalanche on Henderson Mountain Thursday morning.

Officials said the slide didn't bury either rider but one rider did receive potentially life-threatening injuries.
Park County Search and Rescue's Cooke City unit and an air ambulance responded to the incident.
Officials said a snowmobiler caused the avalanche on Henderson Mountain and that more information will be released when it's available.
