Scholarship Night is always an exciting time for the Fayette Community Foundation and Connersville High School seniors alike as thousands of dollars in scholarships are awarded to worthy students. However, this year’s Scholarship Night was even more special as three new scholarship funds were awarded for the first time. Each of these scholarships were established by caring and thoughtful donors to support Fayette County students pursuing higher education, in alphabetical order:
The Bill Rose Memorial Scholarship, which was established in loving remembrance of Bill Rose by his family, is a general scholarship that can be used for tuition, fees, and materials. This scholarship honors the sacrifice made by Bill Rose in WWII, giving his own life in an attempt to save a fellow soldier during battle. The first recipient of this scholarship was Paige Dafler.
