Two Arrested for ATM Robbery in Concordia
Two suspects have been taken into custody in regards to a robbery that took place July 12, 2023 at Elk State Bank in Concordia. According to a news release from the Concordia Police Department, officers responded to an alarm call at Elk State Bank, located at 1702 Lincoln Street in Concordia, at 4:30 am on July 12th. Upon arrival, officers found that the ATM of the business had been broken into and a stolen pickup was left on scene. The Concordia Police Department and the Cloud County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search of the area and evidence was recovered from multiple locations.
Significant quantity of illegal drugs leads to 19-year-old’s arrest in Concordia
CONCORDIA, Kan. (WIBW) - A significant amount of illegal narcotics found during a Concordia traffic stop led to the arrest of a 19-year-old from Haddam. The Concordia Police Department says that just before 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, law enforcement officials stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of E. 10th St. for a traffic violation.

Sister Patricia Lewter died November 25, 2023, at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia, Kansas. She was 88 years old and a Sister of St. Joseph for 69 years. She was born in Las Cruces, N.M., on April 25, 1935, to Perry and Rosemary Heep Lewter, the oldest of two children, and was baptized Patricia Louise.

CLAY CO., Kan. (WIBW) - A headless buck found poached over Thanksgiving weekend has spurred the hunt for a poacher near Manchester. Game wardens with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks say that on Nov. 25, the Dickinson Co. Game Warden was called to the southern part of Clay Co. - about 2.5 miles northwest of Manchester off Frontier Rd. - with reports of a poached deer.
