Video: School bus racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway!

CONCORD, N.C. (WGHP) — There is a different kind of racing happening at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

While most are used to seeing major events like the Coca-Cola 600 take place at the track, school bus racing is also taking place at the venue.

FOX8’s Jenna Vitamanti got behind the wheel and put the pedal to the metal to see what these big metal buses have to offer.

Jenna raced against other media members as part of the opening festivities for this year’s Cook Out Summer Shootout race.

Summer Shootout operates as something of a proving ground for young racers. Stars like Bubba Wallace, Corey LaJoie, Chase Elliott and Joey Logano all raced as kids in the Summer Shootout.
