Tide boys’ hockey adds JV, middle school teams following large tryout turnout
Everett co-op begins GBL season Wednesday at home against Somerville. Everett High School coach Craig Richards’ boys’ co-op hockey team, comprised of players from Everett, Revere, Mystic Valley and Malden, ended up with an 9-11 record last year, just missing a state tournament berth. Since Richards and his staff took over the program, they have gone from three wins to last year’s high of nine, and more progress is expected from them once again this winter.
White Stadium is finally getting a renovation
The revamped stadium will host Boston’s new professional women’s soccer team beginning in 2026. White Stadium is about to get a long-overdue renovation. Earlier this year, the National Women’s Soccer League announced that a new, as-yet-unnamed team would be debuting in Boston in 2026. Alongside that announcement came a commitment from the team’s owners, Boston Unity Soccer Partners, to transform Franklin Park’s White Stadium into a state-of-the-art professional pitch.
Boston College Men’s Basketball Triumphs, 86-80, in Back-and-Forth Win Over St. John’s
In a great back-and-forth battle, the Boston College men’s basketball team earned an 86-80 victory over the St. John’s Red Storm in the NABC Brooklyn Showcase. Quinten Post had another impressive game, and although he only scored one point in the second half, he ended with 14 points, 11 boards, and nine assists. Jaeden Zackery was in foul trouble for about ten minutes in the second half but ran the offense well and also scored 14 points.
