Broken glass and low-price shoes flew through the air as a woman in a BMW with her dog slammed into a Long Island shoe store – injuring six people inside, cops said.
The 62-year-old careened her 2021 BMW into Craft Shoes at 6149 Jericho Turnpike in Commack around 2:35 p.m. Thursday, Suffolk County Police said.
Photos from the scene show the black SUV fully inside the store, with its front end pinned against a shelf holding shoes.
Shoes and other debris littered the ground as firefighters and medics responded.
Six people inside the store, including one employee, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Three of them were taken to a local hospital.
The driver was not hurt, nor was her tiny pup, who was carried out of the store by a man.
The cause of the mid-afternoon crash is unclear.
