Ohio State football: Big Ten Championship set for a new network this year

The Ohio State football team is hoping to play in the Big Ten Championship for the first time since 2020. If they do, they'll be shown to the country on a different network.

The Ohio State football team is hoping to make a trip to the Big Ten Championship Game this year. If they do, it would be the first time they've played in the game since 2020. There are no divisions starting this year, so they just have to be one of the two-best teams in the conference.

Since its inception, the Big Ten Championship Game has been broadcast on FOX. They are the Big Ten's primary partners. Since the new TV contract was signed, the Big Ten Championship Game will be rotated throughout it's three partners. FOX, CBS, and NBC, will all get a chance to show it.

This year, the game will be broadcast on CBS. The Ohio State football program actually played in the first game broadcast on CBS in decades when they faced IU in the opener last season. Now that the SEC is strictly in an ESPN contract, CBS will only show Big Ten games.

Because of the new contracts, the best games will get rotated on a yearly basis. FOX seems to have the first pick among games though and they will always choose Ohio State/Michigan. That game will likely not change networks at any point unless things change.

Expect the Buckeyes to play a couple of games this year on CBS and at least one on NBC. As for Peacock, that's a possibility too. The Buckeyes had one of those games last year against Purdue. Since NBC still wants subscribers to their service, I'd expect Ohio State to have another game on Peacock this year because they draw viewers.

The goal is for the Buckeyes to be playing in this game on CBS at the end of the season. Hopefully, the Buckeyes are up for the challenge that this new season will display. That's what they worked towards this Spring.
