Things are starting to really heat up on the recruiting front for the Ohio State football team and new running backs coach Carlos Locklyn may be close to landing one of his top targets for the class of 2025.

With fellow Cleveland area native four-star running back Marquise Davis off the Buckeyes board, as he chose to commit to Kentucky last week, Bo Jackson has emerged as a clear front-runner for Ohio State.

Jackson, a top-100 overall recruit in the class of 25', took a visit to Columbus during Spring ball and appeared to have liked what he had seen of the new Buckeye running back coach.

Speaking to Eleven Warriors at the Canton Under Armour Camp last week, Jackson had this to say about his relationship with Locklyn:

"“It’s been really good, we’ve been talking probably every other day. It’s a nice relationship right now. We just talk casually and he wants to know what I’ve got going on.”"

Jackson also went on to say how excited he was to see the new Buckeye offense in action this Fall as new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is expected to run the rock often this year. Jackson also said that he hopes to make a decision this summer on where he wants to play college ball.

If that holds up, the Buckeyes are in a great spot to gain his verbal over the likes of Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Michigan. He also plans on making another visit to Columbus sometime this summer before he makes that final decision.

The need to get one, if not two, top-end tailbacks in the 2025 class is imperative. With Dallan Hayden leaving for Boulder, and TreVeyon Henderson and Quinton Judkins also expected to leave after this upcoming season, Ohio State will be pretty thin in the running backs room.

Hopefully Locklyn can seal the deal on the in-state product and prove to the fans that he can recruit and keep top Ohio talent within its borders. Keep it locked into Scarlet and Game as we monitor Jackson's commitment.
