One fatally shot in the Hilltop

One person was killed in a residential area of Columbus' Hilltop neighborhood Thursday night.

Columbus police were dispatched to the intersection of Belvidere Avenue and Fairmont Avenue at around 8:17 p.m. and found one person in the street with a gunshot wound.

Medics pronounced the person dead at around 8:23 p.m.

No more information about the shooting was immediately available.

This is at least the 68th homicide in the city in 2023 and comes after a fatal shooting at a South Side gas station on Wednesday night.
