Police: Man dead after shooting in west Columbus

Officers were originally called to the 800 block of Danwood Drive at 8:09 p.m. for a reported shooting, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man is dead following a shooting in west Columbus Thursday evening.

Officers were originally called to the 800 block of Danwood Drive at 8:09 p.m. for a reported shooting, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Officers were then called to a second scene in connection to the shooting at the United Dairy Farmers gas station on Norton Road.

The victim of the shooting, 23-year-old Ian Cousins, was taken to Doctors Hospital in critical condition where he died just after 8:30 p.m.

Police said Cousins was shot on Danwood Drive and officers found him at UDF.

Both scenes are under investigation, according to police.

No information on a possible suspect has been released.
