HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A hot-hitting Columbus didn’t waste time Tuesday night in their showdown with Hastings Five Points.

Connor Rausch sent a hard grounder right back up the middle to plate the game’s first run as Quenton Gustafson trotted in. Next guy up was clean-up hitter Wyatt Swanson, and he grounded into a 4-3 fielder’s choice. That allowed Abe Christensen to score to make it 2-0 in favor of Columbus Cornerstone.

Then the road team added salt to the wound, as Will Wickman got just the end of the bat on the ball, but it was enough to float a bloop single to right-center. That allowed Collin Rausch to score, and the rout was on after that in an 8-3 Columbus win.
