Winn-Dixie celebrates newly remodeled store with Columbus community
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Winn-Dixie officially unveiled a newly remodeled Winn-Dixie store in Columbus on Wednesday, May 31, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The Winn-Dixie, located at 6770 Veterans Parkway, received a major make over today.
In celebration of the new store and to give back to the local community, Winn-Dixie held a check presentation for the Paws Humane Society.
With fresh concepts and features, the new and improved Veterans Parkway Winn-Dixie store now includes:
- New façade signage and a fresh, contemporary color palate and modern store signage.
- Newly updated produce department featuring an expanded selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, including organic varieties and convenient grab-and-go selections.
- Improved deli with expanded offerings with a wide assortment of easy lunch and dinner options including self-serve hot food with options varying daily, rotisserie chicken, wing bar with several flavor varieties, as well as prepared sandwiches and salads.
- Updated bakery department with self-serve donuts and rolls in addition to a wide selection of cakes, fresh breads and more.
- Refreshed meat department offering a wide selection of premium fresh meats including Certified Angus Beef® selections.
- Expanded seafood department offering shoppers a variety of fresh seafood on ice, additional frozen seafood assortments, as well as the “Seafood Made Easy” option where customers can choose the type of seafood, vegetables and seasoning to be packaged together for easy preparation at home.
- Refreshed beer and wine section with an expanded assortment of expertly selected wines and beers.
- An in-store pharmacy with expert pharmacists available to answer any questions regarding health and prescriptions and a new private consultation room for comfortable, private immunizations.
- Improved floral department with an on-site florist to help create beautiful bouquets for any occasion.
- Easy curbside pickup and delivery option when shopping online through the Winn-Dixie app and website, providing online customers the same great benefit of in-store prices, savings and promotions.

The new and improved Veterans Parkway store is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.
On Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Veterans Parkway Winn-Dixie will host a community celebration for customers with live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, samplings, free raffles, and giveaways.
Customers must be present to win all raffle items, including two $500 gift card raffles at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and a YETI 75 Cooler and accessories at 12 p.m., and a Blackstone grill package at 1 p.m.
The first 100 customers will also receive mystery gift cards valued between $5 and $500 beginning at 10 a.m.
The Saturday community celebration is free and open to all.
