High-speed chase ends at Peachtree Mall; three suspects arrested

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people following a police chase that ended at Peachtree Mall.

On May 25, the sheriff’s office and Georgia State Patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2018 Kia Sportage. The vehicle pulled into the Peachtree Mall parking lot - finally stopping near the At Home section of the parking lot.

Officials say the driver then sped through the full parking lot in an attempt to elude troopers.

The vehicle abruptly stopped outside the south entrance of the mall.

Three male occupants fled from the vehicle on foot into the mall. Investigators and assisting deputies arrested all three subjects of interest, after a brief foot chase.

The driver was a validated and wanted gang member, Antwan Lee, who had outstanding warrants for the following:

  • 2 Counts Felony Participation in Criminal Gang Activity (MCSO)
  • Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (MCSO)
  • Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property into State (MCSO)
  • Felony Terroristic Threats (Family Violence) (CPD)
  • Stalking (Family Violence) (CPD)
  • Criminal Trespass (Family Violence) (CPD)
  • Simple Battery (Family Violence) (CPD)

Lee was also charged with the following:

  • Reckless Driving
  • Fleeing and Elude
  • 2 Counts Participation in Criminal Gang Activity 16-15-4A
  • 2 Counts Participation in Criminal Gang Activity 16-15-4B
  • Possession of a Firearm During Commission of Crime
  • Possession of Marijuana with Intent
  • Obstruction of an Officer
  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Excessive Tint

Jamir Frazier and Kendrick Thomas were both also arrested and charged with the following:

  • Felony Possession of a Firearm During Crime
  • Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent
  • 2 Counts Felony Participation in Criminal Gang Activity 16-15-4A
  • 2 Counts Felony Participation in Criminal Gang Activity 16-15-4B
  • Obstruction of an Officer
  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects

The following firearms and items were recovered from the scene as evidence:

  • Glock 19 Gen 4 9mm
  • Glock 17 Gen 5 9mm
  • Taurus G3 9mm
  • 2018 KIA Sportage VIN KNDPN3AC6J7428481
  • 115 grams of marijuana (street value $1,150.00)
  • 3 Digital Scales
  • Gang Related Paraphernalia

All three subjects were arrested without incident and transported to the Muscogee County Jail. This case remains under investigation.
