COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - St. Francis-Emory Healthcare in Columbus ended a temporary lockdown after it was placed following reports of suspicious activity.

The hospital said the activity occurred in the building’s parking garage around 5 p.m. on March 29, and they were placed on a temporary lockdown for extra precaution.

According to a Facebook post from St. Francis, the lockdown was lifted at approximately 6:30 p.m. after local law enforcement gave an ‘all-clear.’

Columbus Police Department says the lockdown stemmed from a report of someone being in the hospital with a firearm. Officers searched the building, and no one was found, resulting in the all-clear status.
