COLUMBIA —
Columbia police arrested a male suspect in south Columbia Thursday afternoon who they believe is connected to Wednesday's shooting at the Smiley Lane Break Time Convenience Store. Police detained three other suspects near Grindstone Parkway and Buttonwood Drive at 2:45 p.m. Columbia Police Spokesman Christian Tabak told KRCG the male suspect was arrested Thursday for unrelated charges to Wednesday's shooting.

Police have yet to release the name of the suspect.
A woman and two children were shot during Wednesday's shooting and were recovering from minor injuries.

Columbia police were investigating three shootings that occurred within a 24 hour period.
