Missouri track and field’s Sophia Rivera was named Southeastern Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The graduate student set a new program record in the women’s javelin in the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Friday, heaving the javelin 189 feet, 2 inches. The throw also secured her victory in the event.

Rivera is the first female to earn the award since Kearsten Peoples earned the award in 2014.

Rivera shared the honors with Kentucky freshman Anthaya Charlton, who recorded a personal best in the long jump to win the UCF Black & Gold Invite.

The Tigers next compete in the Raleigh Relays starting Thursday in Raleigh, North Carolina.
