The Columbia Police Department is investigating after a Columbia man was struck by a tractor trailer and killed early Wednesday morning. Brandon W. Lee, 36, was walking in the driving lane of northbound U.S. Highway 63, just north of Grindstone Parkway, around 1:20 a.m. when he was struck by a 2021 Kenworth T680 carrying a fuel tanker, according to the police department's preliminary investigation.

Missouri softball outfielder Alex Honnold was named to the 2023 NFCA All-American second team Wednesday, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced. Honnold led the Tigers at the plate this past season with a .396 batting average and 14 home runs. She drove in 49 runs and drew 44 walks in 57 games.

The junior started every game for the Tigers during the 2023 season and led the team with a .312 batting average. The Jefferson City native also recorded eight home runs and 36 RBI.

Missouri men’s basketball appears to be looking at the Summit League to address its veteran height issue. The Tigers hosted Oral Roberts transfer Connor Vanover on Wednesday, according to a tweet from CBB Content. Vanover is listed at 7-foot-5 on the Golden Eagles’ athletics website, making him one of the tallest players in the sport.

Mizzou football revealed two additional game times for the upcoming season Wednesday, setting in stone what the early portion of the Tigers’ schedule will look like. Missouri’s second game of the season, against Middle Tennessee, will kick off at 6 p.m. Sept. 9 in Columbia. The following week, the Tigers will host Kansas State, but it’s set for the morning slot at 11 a.m. Sept. 16.
