Veteran SEC College Football Player Suspended After Arrest
Missouri football player Chad Bailey was arrested before 3 a.m. Central time on Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to records from the Boone Co. (Mo.) Sheriff's Office.
Bailey was released on $500 bond.
Missouri football coach Eli Drinkwitz suspended the linebacker indefinitely from the team as a result of the incident.
"We are aware of the situation involving Chad Bailey," Drinkwitz said in a statement.
"He's been suspended according to Department of Athletics policy. We have high expectations for all of our student-athletes, on and off the field, and we will follow all departmental and campus policies."

Police pulled Bailey over near campus in Columbia, Mo., shortly before 1 a.m. Central time for a lane violation and driving with an expired license plate.
He then failed a sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Bailey was captain for the Missouri football team a year ago and is set to return as one of the team's most important defensive players for the 2023 season.
He placed third on the team with 57 stops, adding 8.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks last season, adding 2.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks in the Gasparilla Bowl.
