Wynne, Cross County Schools shift to summer schedules
CROSS COUNTY — The Wynne and Cross County School Districts are preparing to start the summer season. The last day for all students in the Wynne School District is this Friday. The administrative offices will go to their summer schedule next week, meaning all offices will be closed on Fridays. That schedule will be until further notice.

Cross County Library launches summer reading challenges for all ages
WYNNE — The Cross County Library has introduced reading challenges for kids, teens, and adults during the Summer Reading Program. There is a bingo card for kids and teens to fill out and receive a voucher for a free personal pan pizza and be entered into a drawing for a grand prize. EACC board approves budget, implements across-the-board pay raise
FORREST CITY — The East Arkansas Community College Board of Directors has approved the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Turbulence, strong wind shears noted in preliminary report on plane crash
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released the preliminary report on the plane crash last month in Lee County that killed two Batesville residents. According to the NTSB, weather data at the time of the incident reported “strong vertical wind shears” with “a high possibility of moderate or greater turbulence” as the plane flew from Pensacola to Batesville in the late afternoon of May 12.
