Just five months into 2024, it almost feels like we're closing more places than we are opening. From national chain stores to awesome locally-owned restaurants, things don't seem to be getting better.

With all of the insanity that the pandemic brought to so many locally-owned businesses around Colorado, many found ways to push through, while some have had to give up on their dreams and close up.

While this locally owned and operated franchise favorite in Colorado had to lock up shop, the pandemic was only the start of their issues.

While their local Facebook keeps continuing to auto-post from what we would assume is a corporate auto-feed, we can confirm that the Dickies BBQ Pit restaurant in Windsor has permanently closed. While the pandemic was the beginning of issues for many locally run restaurants and businesses, the final nail in the coffin for this local Windsor favorite was the construction that took place last summer. When road closures make it tough for customers to get to you, many times they'll find other places to eat that are easier to access.

Sadly, traffic detours, etc. can kill a business especially when a part of their business comes from people just driving by and deciding to try. While an ownership change did happen in the last year, it wasn't enough to save this Windsor favorite.

There are still other Dickies BBQ locations in Fort Collins, Greeley, Windsor, and all over the Denver Metro area if you need to get your Dickies fix.
