Where good news shines

Jay Thomason smacked the 51st home run of his career, setting an Air Force record Tuesday.

Thomason’s solo shot in the first inning at Northern Colorado moved him in front of Nic Ready on the Falcons’ all-time list. Ready set the mark in a career that wrapped in 2019.

The Falcons won the game 8-5, with Tripp Garrish’s three-run home run giving them a four-run lead in the sixth inning.

Thomason, a senior from Auburn, Ala., is now three home runs shy of the Mountain West career home run, currently held by BYU’s Sean McNaughton with 54.

Thomason led Air Force with 16 home runs as a sophomore and led the Mountain West with 21 as a junior. His 14 home runs this season currently leads the conference.
