If you are a lover of fried chicken and chicken sandwiches, the last year or so has probably been heaven for you around metro Phoenix. There have been countless chicken restaurants opening up around the area, some locally bred, but many flying in from outside the state. It’s a long way off from when it was difficult to track down chicken wings back during the pandemic. Now, a local chicken shop that opened just a year ago has already connected with the community and has opened a second location, spreading even more fried chicken goodness to hungry patrons.

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Two people were arrested in the City of Eagan, Minnesota, during the execution of a search warrant that resulted in multiple drug-related felony charges on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. The culmination of a several-month-long narcotics investigation started in April 2023, headed by a detective in the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office and a Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team member. The final result was the arrest of Teresa Arellano of Eagan, Minnesota, and Eliseo Romo of St Paul, Minnesota, who both were charged with four separate felonies and the seizure of 17.196 pounds of methamphetamine and 13,500 pills of Oxycodone.

Amanda was incredibly loving and always caring for others. If she never helped you, she did not know you. Even after she left, her gift of giving continued as an organ donor to help people she never met. Amanda’s silliness and happiness were infectious. She enjoyed making people smile and loved interacting with them, even at work. You would not recognize her if she was not smiling as she almost always had a beautiful smile on her face to greet you.

Longmont Meals on Wheels delivers hot, healthy meals to older adults and people with disabilities in Longmont and Niwot. Each year, around the holidays, they deliver a special gift as well. This year they are aiming to give two handmade washcloths to their clients but they need help from the community.

In a small community park in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood of Longmont is a mailbox where letters for Santa can be dropped off. In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Santa had to take a break. Young people missed being able to visit the jolly man to share their holiday wishes. Lola and Steven Hamby’s grandson was among them.
