Women’s Tennis Brings Home Multiple ITA Mountain Region Honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force women's tennis team was named to multiple postseason accolades by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the organization announced on Tuesday.

Class of 2023 graduates Sydney Fitch and Courtney Swift were each named to individual awards, while the women's tennis program was tabbed as recipients of the ITA Community Service Award.

Fitch, team captain for the program in 2022-23, earned the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship award. Since 2013, Air Force women's tennis has been named to the award in eight of the last 11 years.

Swift earned the Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award, linking the Falcons to the honor for the second consecutive year.

2023 marks the second year in which Air Force earned all three awards; Fitch and Swift's respective individual honors both mark the 20th and 21st leadership/sportsmanship accolades earned under the tenure of former head coach Kim Gidley
