DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A teenager is dead as the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a trend called “car surfing.”. The tragic death occurred on May 5 after deputies were called to a crash along Quarry Drive. The area is south of Lone Tree. The sheriff’s office says witnesses reported the back seat passengers were “hanging out” of the car’s windows before the car crashed. A 16-year-old eventually passed away and their identity was not released to the public. The sheriff’s office believes they were “car surfing.” The trend reportedly involves someone riding on the outside of a motor vehicle.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are in Colorado for the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony this week!. The elite team was practicing flyovers Wednesday morning and they are scheduled to practice their performance sometime between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, depending on the weather. The team is also scheduled to perform after the graduation ceremony on Thursday. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and KKTV will be livestreaming the event. The public can expect the Thunderbird performance to happen at about 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Motor Vehicle Theft Unit spotted the car Tuesday afternoon in the area of Pikes Peak and Hancock Avenue and called tactical units for backup. PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A 43-year-old man was sentenced to six years in prison after authorities found about half a pound of meth in a home east of Pueblo. The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office shared the sentencing information for Daniel Montano on Friday. He was convicted of drug possession with intent to distribute. Authorities found the meth, 20 pounds of dried marijuana, $20,000 in cash, guns, and jewelry while executing a search warrant at a residence in Boone in 2021.
