ALBANY, NY (WRGB) —
The man accused of barricading himself and his mother in a hospital room appeared in court on Friday.

Sixty-one-year-old Dino Savoca of Colonie is facing a number of charges, accused of barricading himself in a hospital room with his elderly mother.
Police say he pointed a gun at an employee after learning that his 97-year-old mother was about to be transferred to a rehab facility.
He’s been charged with criminal weapons possession, menacing, and kidnapping, and appeared in court Tuesday morning. Police say they recovered a BB gun and a shotgun from the room.

Dressed in an orange jumpsuit, Dino appeared with his public defender, a judge ruling that the case will be brought to a grand jury.
