Girls lacrosse completes undefeated regular season; awaits playoff opponent
So far, no one has come close to standing in the way of the Bear River girls lacrosse team's quest for a third consecutive state championship. The girls took care of business last week, completing an unbeaten regular season with wins over Sky View and Logan that were, much like every other match this season, never in doubt.
Prep boys volleyball: Grizzlies place 3rd in inaugural 4A state tourney
It wasn’t the fairy-tale ending the Grizzlies were hoping for, but it was still a special inaugural season for the Region 11 champions in boys volleyball. Second-seeded Logan could have folded after a heartbreaking five-set loss to No. 3 Pine View in the semifinals of the 4A State Championships, but instead regrouped and swept No. 13 Timpanogos by scores of 25-16, 25-20 in the third-place match on Saturday afternoon at Utah Valley University’s UCCU Center. All consolation round matches were modified to a best-of-three format.
US approves $200M to curtail spread of bird flu in cows; what USU scientists want you to know
LOGAN — Avian influenza, or bird flu, has been from birds to dairy cows in nine U.S. states. Utah State University scientists want to make sure the public has the facts. The Biden administration announced Friday that it would give almost $200 million to fight the spread of the flu among dairy cows. Most of the funds will go toward testing and lab fees. Of that, up to $28,000 per dairy farm will be available to contain the spread of the virus and testing. Other funds are available for vaccines, wastewater surveillance and for protecting the commercial milk supply.

After reading the Herald Journal article on CVTD I am left with a few questions. Is there really a demand to expand? What does it cost to transport passengers? Is there a good reason to completely enclose the building? What is the total cost for the entire project.
Prep boys volleyball: Hawks end season with 3 straight wins; Cats edged in consolation bracket
It was a heartbreaking state tournament opener for the Riverhawks, but they refused to let that put a damper on a strong first season as a sanctioned boys volleyball program. Ridgeline made the most of its time in the consolation bracket as it won back-to-back-to-back matches to place sixth at the 4A State Championships, which came to a conclusion Saturday at Utah Valley University’s UCCU Center. Indeed, the fourth-seeded Riverhawks bounced back nicely from Friday’s gut wrenching 25-19, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 15-13 round of 16 setback to eventual semifinalist Timpanogos.
