On Memorial Day, they were prompted to put on their 'wildlife officer' hats.
That's because they had to rescue a fawn who was having trouble on the side of the road, according to a Facebook post.
The fawn was spotted along the side of the road at the 5000 block of Little Debbie Parkway Monday morning.
Several attempts were made to return the baby to the tree line, but it kept returning to the side of the road,' the post says.
Officers could not find the baby deer's mother in the area.

The officers chose to rescue the hungry and dehydrated deer from danger and brought it back to the station to find a suitable rehabilitation location. One was eventually found and the baby is now in good hands,' the post concludes.
