Officials investigate fire at Virtue Field on UVM campus
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after a fire overnight at Virtue Field on the University of Vermont campus. According to the Burlington Fire Department, crews responded to Virtue Field just after midnight for a reported structure fire in the dugout next to the soccer field. Firefighters determined the fire to be coming from an equipment shed next to the press box.
Burlington Police Department updates its Priority Response Plan website
The Burlington, Vermont Police Department has updated its website to provide a more detailed description of its Priority Response Plan. According to the Police Department there has been a decrease of 30 sworn officers since July 1st, 2022 but the number of incidents has risen. The department implemented a Priority Response Plan effective when two or fewer sworn officers can respond.
Police seek info on Montgomery stolen car, ‘porch pirates’ in Cambridge
MONTGOMERY, Vt. (WCAX) - Police are looking for two people who they say may be connected to a stolen car in Montgomery and the theft of packages from homes in Cambridge. The Vermont State Police say a blue 2010 Acura TSX was stolen from a home on Main Street in Montgomery overnight. Then, around 1 p.m. Thursday, they got a report of a car matching that description stealing packages on Jeff Heights in Cambridge.

Two arrested after defecating in victim’s car during Barton-Lowell crime spree
BARTON — Vermont State Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a series of thefts and other incidents that occurred in Barton and Lowell on Friday. Alexis Pelletier, 28, of no fixed address in the Burlington area, and Jamie Hoben, 39, of no fixed address in the Barton area, were issued citations to appear in court on Tuesday, June 18, for their alleged involvement in the incidents.
