The Coffeyville city attorney is resigning. 

Paul Kritz confirmed to the Montgomery County Chronicle that he turned in his resignation this morning.  Kritz has offered to continue his duties until a replacement can be found.  According to the Chronicle, he did not indicate why he was resigning.  Kritz will continue to serve as a senior partner with his local practice. 

The resignation comes just two weeks after the fire chief was terminated and just over one week after a large number of citizens showed up in support of that fire chief at the most recent city commission meeting.  The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30pm.
