Memorial Day events in the Valley

Monday, May 29th is Memorial Day, a national holiday for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Many annual events are taking place in the Central Valley to honor those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms.

The Clovis Veterans Memorial District (CVMD) plans to bring together over 1,000 community members to engage in outside activities, a car show, a patriotic concert program, and a complimentary luncheon.

CVMD Schedule:

  • 9 am – 2 pm: Outside booths, live music performed by John Pemberton and activities, West Side Park and Veterans Parkway
  • 9 am – 2 pm: Veteran documentaries, Auditorium
  • 11 am – 12 pm: Patriotic Concert featuring the Clovis Community Band, Liberty Ballroom
  • 12 pm – 2 pm: Complimentary Luncheon, Served throughout the District facility by the Old Town Clovis Kiwanis

Farmersville’s 67th Annual Memorial Day Parade – The Kiwanis Club of Farmersville will be sponsoring Farmersville’s 67th Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday starting at 10:00 am. The parade location is on North Farmersville Blvd which is between Visalia Road and Front Street.

The Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery will hold its second annual Memorial Day Sunset Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery, 639 S. Foothill Ave. in Lindsay. The event will include snacks, drinks, fellowship, and music.
